J.M.VAN ROMBURGH.

My Wife and I came to Cape Town with Great Expectations. We started a new work, which lasted 3 months then the business closed down. For 11 months I was without work, then God open a door for me at Cum Books in Blue Route Tokai.
He has taken me on a 2 year journey in Cum Books which had some Good Memories, and some Bad Memories (went in serious depression, but with counseling/prayer came through it). But he is so Faithful every single time.
I started Praying asking God for work where I can live out my passion for Administration/Human Resources. I have emailed 126 applications for work according to my qualification. Nothing happened, but every time I received Word from God that he is preparing me for something Big.
I decided to go on a 21 day Daniel Fast, beginning of this year, Praying for a Breakthrough in My Life, but also praying for friends/family. This was also the first time in a very long while that I started giving my tithes. I kept being faithful/truthful to God no matter what. Then God spoke to me one Final Time, saying I have prepared you for 2 years, now you are ready for your next challenge.
Multi-Clean’s Owners approached me with a Job Offer to become the owner of my own Business in the Northern Suburbs. God Blessed me out of my socks, Bigger than I ever could imagine. (a New Business/New Bakkie and a Great Team).
Being Faithful/Truthful to God goes a long way. Never give up, be Positive and Believe in God’s Miracles in your life, they do exist.

I give God all the Glory. I have become the Man God wants me to be in My Marriage and towards my Friends and Family.

RAOUL ESNOUF

On November 24th, 1977, at approximately 4 pm, I was caught in a terrorist ambush while in active service in the then Rhodesia. As I flung myself to the ground, I registered a flash beneath me, and then the realization that I had thrown myself onto a rifle grenade. It blew a hole about 3” in diameter in my neck and also fractured and blew away part of my jaw.
As I lay there, trying to get a bandage out of my haversack, I prayed that God would save me. The blood was pouring from my neck. I had never seen so much blood in all my life. And as I prayed the flow of blood ceased, as instantly as if a tap had been turned off. I registered that I had three teeth which had been blown out of my jaw, lying in my mouth.
My stick leader did what he could to help me, but breathing had now become difficult. God again came to my aid and enabled me to take short gulps of air and to breathe slowly and calmly – a miracle in itself, under the circumstances.  My stick leader, who had immediately radioed base camp, was becoming desperate – there was no sign of a pick-up truck and darkness was not far away. Once again God intervened – a Police Airwing plane happened to be in the area and just happened to tune into army frequency. The pilot realized that there was a problem between ourselves and base camp, and traced the truck for us, which at this stage was heading in the opposite direction altogether. In a very short while, in a black-out situation, the truck would have had to give up the search, and there is no doubt that I would not have lasted the night where I was. The truck was redirected and arrived just before nightfall. Throughout this entire period I experienced no pain at all. My stick leader was insistent on offering me morphine, which I rejected.
Four hours later I arrived at Chiredzi Hospital where I was fitted with a tracheotomy tube to assist my breathing. By then my lungs were totally congested and every time I coughed, up came clots of blood and dust.
The next day I was flown to the then Salisbury, and that afternoon underwent my first operation.  This lasted 4½ hours, and in this time the doctors merely cleaned me up, stitched my wound, replaced the dislodged teeth and wired my jaw. In fact, to this day those teeth remain in place. I had lost 6 pints of blood and a pound of sand was pumped out of my lungs and stomach. I was then transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. The surgeon told my wife that my throat, vocal chords and larynx were badly damaged. He was 99% sure that I would never talk again.
Two weeks later, when the swelling had subsided, I underwent a further operation. Afterwards we were told by the specialist that, whereas before he had been 99% sure that I would never talk again, now he was 99.9% sure. He said that the vocal chords had been completely shattered and were beyond recognition. A week later I was to have a laryngectomy, which meant that what was left of my voice box would be removed and I would be fitted with a permanent tracheotomy tube.
I now began to pray in earnest that God would heal me. People all over Africa, and some in other countries, were praying too. Our church had an all night of prayer, and we were believing for a creative miracle in my throat. We claimed Mark 11:24 – “what things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye have them and ye shall receive them.”
At midnight on the 20th December, the Lord clearly spoke to me and said He would heal me. The operation took place on the 21st December. The anesthetist told my wife afterwards that all present were “shattered” to discover, on opening me up, two beautiful, healthy vocal cords which, just a week before, had been described as “shattered beyond recognition.” God had performed the creative miracle and healed my throat. A few repairs were effected and the incision (almost ear to ear, requiring 99 stitches) simply sewn up again. The specialist told my wife later that, before the op, had he been a betting man, he would not have given me a thousand to one chance of ever speaking normally again.
Over the next seven months I underwent further surgery in the form of a bone transplant from my hip to replace the missing bone in my jaw. At regular intervals the dental surgeon undid the wires in my jaw to see if the bone had knitted, repairing the break. Finally towards the end of this period, after much prayer as well, the bone finally knitted and the wires were removed.
Praise God – whenever I open my mouth to speak the evidence is there that He is still a God of miracles, with Him nothing is impossible, and that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever!
