LATEST NEWS FROM ‘THE PANTRY’

January 2010 - report from Alvin
Since my last update, The Pantry has been very busy as usual. The food received from Harvest Sunday lasted a whole four (4) months, right up until mid December. I praise God for all that He is doing through the Pantry. I shared with Ps Kevin and briefly with the Church what a blessing Harvest Sunday was.
Thanks to two wonderful people, we were blessed with 2 new bunk mattresses. We were also blessed with 2 brand new single beds as well. Plenty of clothes were also donated and lots of food.
These items were a blessing to a number of families. Thanks also to those who collect, sort, count and bank all the cents. That is surely a tedious task. The cent collection has really made a huge difference.
A washing machine and tumble dryer was also given to people that needed one. Praise the Lord for that generous couple that donated those items.
The Pantry is also blessing some homeless folk that are really trying. We can see the difference that God is making in their lives. Food and clothing are often given to these precious sons and daughters of God.
Many thanks to the Church for the initiative in taking up a special offering during the Christmas period. That was an awesome blessing from God. During this period, Shoprite vouchers and biscuits were given to families. One brother mentioned how he didn’t have any money to buy his son a Christmas gift. Miraculously he found himself in one of the prayer meetings. The Lord blessed him with the vouchers and he managed to buy his son that gift…amen!
There are countless testimonies coming through how God is using the Body Of Christ in bringing His scriptures to life. The Body is truly living the Word.
I believe God is going to expand the Pantry and bring to pass what He has shown me in 2010. This is a huge vision and it is no more scaring me. God has shown me how it will be done.
Please understand that at times some folk feel shy and sometimes embarrassed when we give out the food. Thursday 21 Jan 10, Mala and I distributed food parcels. I couldn’t help but feel pity on a young man when I saw the shyness on his face as he received the food parcel. Please pray that folk will break that proud spirit and receive the full measure of the Favour of God.
On the other hand, one young mom said to me that she just finished cooking her last meal and started to wonder what will she do after this. Then just as she decided to trust in the Lord, her phone rang with a blessing on the other side. That for me was a real blessing. Did you know that that same family was the biggest contributor to The Pantry when the vision first started… how wonderful is our Father…!

Please pray for us. We have new visions and dreams as to where God is leading us.

A huge thank you to all. May our Father multiply your seed a 1000 fold.

The Pantry was started at Fullies in February 2008. We thank the Lord every day for the way the Body has come together to help each other. Lives were changed and families have been blessed.

The amazing thing is that families that were blessed by the Pantry, are now blessing the Pantry with so much more than they were given.
